Today, Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan held an online meeting with Manol Genov, Minister of Environment and Water Resources of the Republic of Bulgaria.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues of mutual interest in the field of environmental protection, as well as potential areas for bilateral cooperation.
The Minister presented the organizational and agenda priorities of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), outlining the key focuses of the upcoming events and the expected stages of work. He emphasized that the conference will serve as an important platform for coordinating joint actions and approaches toward biodiversity conservation and sustainable development goals.
Particular attention was paid to effective water resource management, including the implementation of water-saving and modern technologies, protection of water ecosystems, and measures aimed at preventing and mitigating water-related risks. In this context, the parties highlighted the importance of experience exchange and the promotion of joint initiatives.
The ministers agreed to maintain professional contacts and to explore concrete opportunities for future cooperation.
